After taking in Newport's historic land attractions, end the day with a 12 Meter Charters sunset sail. Enjoy breathtaking views of Newport harbor and Narragansett Bay during twilight. With the heat of the day passed, the winds are light and warm as you silently glide along with the sun's orange glow and the painted, red skies engulfing your senses. A sail aboard one of our America's Cup yachts is the perfect way to enjoy a beverage before dining at one of Newport's famous restaurants. It is an experience not to be missed on your visit to Newport!

Not your typical harbor cruise, 12 Meter Charters' sunset cruises combine the history of Newport, RI with the unparalleled experience of sailing on an America's Cup contender. Enjoy historic Newport sights including Fort Adams, the Newport Bridge, lighthouses, the Naval War College, air craft carriers, historic schooners, and lavish estates but also experience the history of the America's Cup in our yachts.

Enjoy a sunset cruise on one of Newport's finest yachts! All of our 12 Meters have competed in the America's Cup and include:

• Columbia US-16, first 12 Meter to win the America's Cup, built in 1958.
• Easterner US-18, three time America's Cup competitor, built in 1958.
• Heritage US-23, America's Cup challenger and newest in the fleet, built in 1970.

12 Meter Charters welcomes you to bring your own beverages and hors d'oeuvres on your sunset sail or let us arrange it. An America's Cup sail is the perfect prelude to a night out at one of Newport, RI's fabulous restaurants or bars. A summertime sunset on Narragansett Bay is a delightful way to experience Newport, Rhode Island - "The City by the Sea!"

As with all of 12 Meter Charters' events, no sailing experience is necessary to enjoy the thrill of sailing on our America's Cup 12 Meters. With our experienced crews, sailing participation from our guests is welcomed but never required. Take part in the sailing of an America's Cup 12 Meter or just sit back and enjoy the scenic views of Narragansett Bay at sunset.

• From May through October, 12 Meter Charters' two hour Sunset Sails depart daily, upon request, from Bowen's Wharf, Newport, RI.
• Rates start at $950 per boat, accommodating up to 12 people.
